Details Itinerary

  • Altitude: Natin Village: 2,250 m/7,500 ft.
  • Distance: 200 km
  • Duration: 7-8 hours.
  • Accommodation: Guest house

Your journey to Dayara Bugyal will begin from Dehradun. Today we will drive from Dehradun to Natin village. We will pick you up at 06:00 am from Prince Chowk (If you have opted for transportation from LET’S GO UbEx). You are requested to be at the pickup point on time.

The distance from Dehradun to Natin village is approximately 200 kilometers and might take up to 7-8 hours of drive. During the drive, you can enjoy the changing scenery as you move closer to Uttarkashi.

On your way to Natin, you will get the first glimpse of the Gangotri range and Shrikanth peak. We can pause for a small break if you wish to capture the splendid peaks.

Natin is a pleasant village, famous as the base camp for the Dayara Bugyal trek. It is about 40 kilometers away from Uttarkashi, the largest town on the route. As you move closer to the base camp, you’ll witness snowy mountain ranges, slowly appearing and gradually unfolding.

As you approach Natin, the views of the mountain peaks grow bigger, with Shrikanth being one of the prominent peaks. The last prominent market on your way will be Uttarkashi, followed by a smaller market at Bhatwari.

You will reach Natin by the afternoon, where you can freshen up and rest for a while. In the evening, you will have a brief introduction and briefing session with the trek leader and guide, and the schedule for the upcoming days will be shared with you.

At night, you will be served a warm dinner, then you can rest for the following day. You will spend the night in a guest house and experience a taste of a village homestay.

The trek to Dayara Bugyal will begin from Natin village, and today we will trek to Gui. The distance to Gui is around 4-5 kilometers and will take approximately 4-5 hours.

In the morning, you’ll wake up to stunning views of the surrounding mountains, enjoy breakfast, and then begin your trek early. The trail starts with a walk through a lush jungle, gradually ascending on easy terrains.

Along the way, you’ll pass silver and gold oak trees, and the trail is well-marked and scenic. It is relatively easy and beginner-friendly, with a gradual ascent. Be sure to carry enough water (at least 2 liters) as there are no water sources along the route.

As you get closer to Gui, the mountain views become more pronounced as you gain altitude. The trail continues through a forest of Maple and Oak trees, occasionally passing vibrant Rhododendrons in bloom during the spring. In winter, the trail and trees are often covered in snow.

Upon reaching Gui, you can rest and take a short walk around the campsite to help with acclimatization. The campsite offers beautiful views, perfect for photos and relaxation. In the evening, you’ll enjoy a warm dinner before resting in tents for the night.

  • Trek Distance: 3 km | 2 hours
  • Accommodation: Tents

Today, we will trek from Gui to Chilapada, covering a distance of about 3 kilometers, which will take around 2-3 hours. A liter of water should be sufficient for the trek today.

The day begins with a delicious breakfast in the mountains, and then we’ll start our trek. Today’s hike is relatively easy, with a gentle ascent as the forest clears, bringing you closer to the next campsite, Chilapada. As you move along the trail, you’ll notice the mountains that were previously hidden coming into view. During winter, the trails are covered with snow, and from Gui Thatch, you’ll enjoy stunning views of Srikanth Peak, as well as Gangotri I, II, and III. You may also spot Jaonli Peak and other majestic peaks along the way.

As you trek upwards, take in the beauty of the Himalayas and the serenity of the surrounding forests.

Upon reaching the Chilapada campsite, you’ll have time to rest before a hot lunch is served. The campsite is nestled in a forested area, offering a peaceful atmosphere. After lunch or evening tea, you can take a short stroll around the campsite to explore the surroundings. These walks are highly beneficial for acclimatization at high altitudes.

Altitude:

  • Dayara Top: 3,700 m/12,000 ft
    Nayata: 2,800 m/9,200 ft

Trek Distance:

  • Chilapada – Dayara Top: 5 km | 5-6 hours
Dayara Top Nayata: 6 km | 3-4 hours
  • Accommodation: Tents

The summit day has arrived! Today, you’ll trek all the way to Dayara Top and then return to the Nayata campsite. The trail is an easy to moderate ascent, but make sure to carry enough water for the day.

After breakfast at the campsite, you’ll start your journey to the summit. The trek begins through the forest and gradually opens up to expansive meadows. As you continue, you’ll enter snowy meadows, with Dayara Meadows not far from Chilapada campsite, giving you plenty of time to explore the area. Along the edge of the meadows, you may spot Shepherd’s huts. These huts are used in the summer months by shepherds to shelter their cattle, but in winter, they remain snow-covered, adding to the beauty of the landscape.

As you walk through the meadows, the views of Bandarpoonch and other peaks will captivate you, bringing you closer to the summit without even realizing it. The final climb is steep, but once you reach the top, the effort will be well worth it. From Dayara Top, you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the Dodital range, with the snowy meadows and towering mountains in the background – a truly remarkable sight. We’ll have a packed lunch on the way.

After taking in the views, we’ll descend to the Nayata campsite. This beautiful campsite is surrounded by Maple and Rhododendron trees, which are often covered in snow during the winter. We’ll set up camp, enjoy a warm dinner, and rest for the night, preparing for the next day’s adventures.

About an hour into the trek, you’ll get your first view of Natin village and Raithal from a distance. Continue on the trail until you reach the base.

As you descend, you can reminisce about the highlights of the ascent, with the mountain peaks seeming to call you back. Natin is a lively village where you can spot local children and villagers going about their daily activities. Upon arrival, you’ll enjoy a hot and delicious lunch. Afterward, you can take time to explore the village or relax.
